Post-Graduate Courses on Spatial Planning and Land Management

Co-PLAN in cooperation with IHS, The Netherlands, and POLIS University are organizing for the second year running, 5 post-graduate courses on spatial planning and land management. The courses, which have been designed to cover the theoretical, strategic, and instrumental aspects of urban development, spatial planning, land management and local governance matters, aim to build capacity of the public and private sector and civil society organizations for formulating and implementing spatial plans and land management instruments in partnership. These postgraduate programs are part of a larger project, in which Co-PLAN has engaged since April 2010; the project, which is in cooperation with the Institute for Housing and Urban Development Studies (IHS) in the Netherlands, is called “Fostering Partnerships for Equitable Cities – Capacity Building for Participatory Spatial Planning”. The project is supported by MATRA Social Transformation Program, of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands. The first round of the postgraduate courses was successfully held during March - August 2011. Pershendetje dhe urime per nje vit te mbare!

Po ju nisim shkurtimisht programin e kurseve Planning Studio e Urban Laboratory (qe do te zhvillohen sebashku) te kesaj fundjave:

E Premte 13 Janar:

ora 13.00-15.00 Pjesa e pare do ti dedikohet kuadrit teorik te formulimit te nje pyetesori, qe perben bazen mbi te cilen do te punoni per pyetesorin tuaj.

Pjesa teorike do te shoqerohet me ilustrime dhe shembuj praktik per te bere te mundur krijimin e nje vizioni te qarte mbi punen qe ju do te kryeni ne terren, (leksion ne sallen A3).

Pjesa e dyte, ora 16.00-18.00, gjate te ciles jeni te ftuar te merrni pjese ne menyre aktive duke propozuar dhe diskutuar mbi pyetesorin, do ti dedikohet hartimit te nje pyetesori dhe ndarjes se zonave per secilin grup, (studio B1).

E Shtune 14 Janar:

9.00-16.00 Pune ne terren, shperndarje dhe plotesim pyetesori.

16.00-17.00 Kthimi ne Polis, korrektimi, filtrimi dhe vleresimi i pyetesoreve.

Gjate gjithe punes suaj ne terren do te keni monitorimin e pedagogeve, asistenteve dhe stafit te Polis-it.

E Diele 15 Janar:

9.00-17.00 Shpjegimi dhe trajnimi mbi programin e perpunimit statistikor te te dhenave SPSS, dhe hedhja e te dhenave te grumbulluara ne kete sistem.

Jeni te lutur te vini te pajisur me Personal Computer, (meqenese eshte i nevojshem instalimi i programit te cilin do t'jua japim ne diten e premte) dhe te visheni sa me komode duke mbajtur parasysh veshtiresite e punes ne terren.

Do te jete nje fundjave vecanerisht dinamike mes leksionesh, studio e pune ne terren e cila nuk duhet humbur.

Ndersa per kursin tjeter Structural Design te grupeve ASD dhe PAD, Prof. Skender Luarasi, leksionet do te zhvillohen si meposhte:

POLIS University has the pleasure to invite you at “ The Design Day @ U_POLIS ”, to be organized on Tuesday, 10 January 2012, 17.00 at  Auditorium C1, POLIS University.

The Design Day @ U_POLIS will include :  

1.    Presentation of the new publication: History of Architecture, Vol.2, by Dr. Vera Bushati

2.    Presentation of the Scientific journal : The Design  Prefix. Forum A+P / No. 9 (an Architecture and Urban Planning periodical).

3.    Short TED lecture from the French designer, Philippe Starck: Why do I design?

4.    Projection of Victoria Secret’s Fashion Show 2011

Tirana Metropol Transformation: Public meeting of the Tirana Mayor, Mr. Lulzim Basha with the Students and staff of U_POLIS

On December 20 ^th, 2011, the meeting of the strategic group for the drafting of the Regulatory Plan was organized at POLIS University.

This activity supported from the “Hans Seidel” foundation, Germany and “IDR-Platform” Institute, it started with a tour in the new building of POLIS University, where the Mayor, Mr. Lulzim Basha was introduced to the infrastructure and the progress of the academic process. A special visit was realized in the design studio,  where 75 graduates of Architecture and Urban Planning are working of detailed projects on Tirana, themed: Projecting Tirana- Alternative Visioning.

Mr. Basha made a presentation for the students/staff of U_POLIS on the Tirana Urban Development Vision, new parks, rail public transport, new Regulatory Plan, International Competitions, etc.

On going, the meeting of the strategic advisory group for the regulatory plan was opened. Several representatives from local and national institution participated in this advisory meeting.

The representatives from 7 neighboring Municipalities and 6 Communes signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the Regulatory Plan and discussed on organizational and strategic issues of this project.

POLIS University actually is ranked as a partner who contributes professionally between the Public/Private decision making structures, which together create projects for the benefit of the territory development, improvement of the urban conditions and transparent governance.

Public meeting of the Mayor of Tirana Municipality  with the students and staff of POLIS University on the development vision of Tirana.

Part I:
11.00             : - Arrival of Mr. Basha in U_POLIS. Reception by Managers of the University (Main Hall)
11:00 to 11:15: - Visit to the new school building, designed and implemented by students and staff of U_POLIS
11:15 to 11:30: - Visit to the Design Studio, where 80 graduate students of Architecture and Urban Planning are designing detailed and partial projects of Tirana: Projecting Tirana – Alternative Visioning (Studio B1)

11:30 to 12:00: - A short presentation by Mr. Basha (20 min ppt + 10 min questions / answers) on the vision of urban development in Tirana, parks, tram, regulatory plan, competitions, etc… (Auditorium-C1)

Part II:
12:00 to 13:00 – Open meeting of strategic advisory group of the Regulatory Plan of Tirana. (Auditorium-C1)
13:00 to 14:00 - Cocktail / lunch for members of the strategic group. ( Motown Canteen )

Part III:
5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. - Lecture of Prof.Dr. Neritan Ceka: On the historical heritage of Northern Albania and Kosovo. (Auditorium-C3).

Rudina Toto is an expert of urban and environmental planning and management. Her background in architecture, practical focus in cities and policy research, and long experience in town planning have given her a powerful knowledge of the Albanian urban fabric and instruments for managing its reality. Her work extends from academic engagements to project planning and management in an Albanian and international context.

Stefano Romano (Naples, Italy 1975).

He is an artist and independent curator. He’s a lecturer at Polis University in Tirana, faculty of Architecture and Art.

Between January 2005 and September 2006 he conceived the curatorial project, 1.60 insurgent space in Tirana (Albania). In 2006 he was co-founder and co-director of T.I.C.A. (Tirana Institute of Contemporary Art). In 2008 He realized the project, CUNS which was a reflection on the art system.

He took part in various solo and collective exhibitions in Italy and abroad.

The idea of system and identity, of the contradictions and the problematic inside of them are the main focuses of his work, which he develops often involving other people.

Performances, installations, videos are used by the artist, always through an ironical point of view, as recording tools of the devices of our society.
