This colloquial is a requirement and it is important because you will receive comments from the commission before the next deadline (28th March 2014) when you will have to submit the advancement of your thesis to your Supervisor (and Cc. me) via email. ...................................................................
Dear students,
As you know last weekend we had the first round of Colloquial/critics. In total only 50% of the students who handed in the First outline Research proposal showed up at the critics. Please consider that the critics are compulsory and you must attend at least 3 critics if you wish to defend your Thesis in July 2014. Since the scheduled critics are 4 in total, if you have missed last weekend’s critics you cannot miss any more from now on. I am sending you the schedule again.
The next deadline is this Friday, 24th January 2014, you will have to submit the Draft Research Proposal (Chapter 1 and Chapter 2: Background, Problem statement, Research question/s, research Objectives, approach and techniques, Literature Review + Planning and References) to your Supervisor via email and Cc. Eralda Ribaj eralda_ribaj@universitetipolis.edu.al and Laura Pedata laura_pedata@universitetipolis.edu.al. If you fail to do so, you will not be able to proceed with the thesis. Please read the Thesis Guidelines attached to this email before writing the document.
I am attaching the new POLIS Master Thesis Guidelines. Please read the whole document carefully because it contains all the information you need to write and Defend your thesis.
Some of you still have to be contacted by the supervisor, in the next few days we will settle this issue.
Best.

Diploma Thesis Process
Dear all,
Please be informed that starting from the weekend December 20th -22nd 2013 you will start the the diploma thesis process for the academic year 2013-2014.
The first step will be an introduction by Prof. Peter Nientied from 9:00 AM on Saturday the 21st December, that will explain you “how to make a thesis proposal” and the second part of the day Laura Pedata (Coordinator of the Master Programs) and other staff, will continue with all the choice of thesis topics, procedures of the thesis progress, questions etc.
- The second step is that on 4th of January you must submit the 1st draft proposal of the thesis. That’s why we consider YOUR PRESENCE VERY IMPORTANT because this step is the first stage of your independent thesis work and it is an essetial requirement for the development of your thesis. If you are absent you will not receive the necessary information.
All the student that have already finished the 2nd year of Master program and have
NOT start the thesis yet, so if you have NOT delivered the proposal yet,
or even if you attended 1-2 critics and you have in your plans to
graduate within July 2014 you must be present on Saturday at 9.00 o’clock.
- Also we inform you that the same weekend(20th -22nd of December 2013) the “Research Methods” course – Part1 by Prof. Peter Nientied will be held, for the 1st year master students. We suggest you all, even if you attended the course last year, follow it again not only to refresh the knowledge in this course but also it could be very useful and helpful, considering that on January 2014 you will start thesis development and all the thesis critics (when you present your progress in front of a commission).
Hope to see you all!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR SECOND YEAR MASTER THESIS STUDENTS!!!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please contact your Tutors if you need some more advice on how to proceed with your research.
Dear Second year Professional Master Students,
I would like to inform you that after evaluating the requests some of you made and considering the overall progress of the Master Theses we decided to schedule a Thesis Critics extraordinary session Saturday the 11th of May from 9:00AM to 5:00PM. The students that were not able to present last weekend are STRONGLY advised to come and present the advancement of their work
All the students that have never presented their work or have only attended the Thesis Critics twice are in a critical condition. As I already told you in my previous email, these meetings are part of the assessment and evaluation of your Thesis work; missing so many Critics could compromise your grade or, even worse, your opportunity to graduate in July.
Please contact your Tutors if you need some more advice on how to proceed with your research.
