THESIS CRITICS 17-19 JANUARY 2014

Dear students of 2nd year Master,
We have received your proposals and most of you also have Supervisors assigned. If you have not been contacted by your Supervisor yet, please let me know.

As you know from the presentation I made in December and from the schedule I sent you, during the thesis process you are required to present the advancement of their thesis during all the presentations in the Colloquia/Critics scheduled during the year. The firs critics are scheduled for next weekend. During the critics you are required to present in front of a commission your Draft Research Proposal (Background, Problem statement, Research question/s, research Objectives, approach and techniques, Literature Review) in a Power point presentation. By now you should have received comments from your Supervisors so you will be able to update and develop your First (outline) Research Proposal before the critics.

Please choose one of the following dates and time frames:
Friday 17th of December (afternoon) 14:00 – 17:00
Saturday 18th of December (morning) 10:00 – 13:00 or (afternoon) 14:30 – 17:00
Sunday the 19th of December (morning) 10:00 – 13:00 or (afternoon) 14:30 – 17:00

And let us know when you will be coming to present at the critics, by writing an email to: Eralda Ribaj eralda_ribaj@universitetipolis.edu.al and Cc. Laura Pedata: laura_pedata@universitetipolis.edu.al

This colloquia is a requirement and it is important because you will receive comments from the commission before the next deadline (24th January 2014) when you will have to submit the Draft Research Proposal (Chapter 1 and Chapter 2: Background, Problem statement, Research question/s, research Objectives, approach and techniques, Literature Review + Planning and References) to your Supervisor (and Cc. me) via email.

For your information I am attaching the schedule of critics & submissions, the presentation I made in December and the Research proposal guidelines again.
Best.

Laura Pedata

The first step will be an introduction for the thesis diploma by Prof. Peter Nientied from 9:00 AM on Saturday the 21st December, that will explain you “how to make a thesis proposal” and the second part of the day Laura Pedata (Coordinator of the Master Programs) and other staff, will continue with all the choice of thesis topics, procedures of the thesis progress, questions etc.

The second step is that on 4th of January you must submit the 1st  draft proposal of the thesis.
That’s why we consider YOUR PRESENCE VERY IMPORTANT because this step is the first stage of your independent thesis work and it is an essential requirement for the development of your thesis. If you are absent you will not receive the necessary information.

We suggest you all, even if you attended the course last year, follow it again not only to refresh the knowledge in this course but also it could be very useful and helpful, considering that on January 2014 you will start thesis development and all the thesis critics (when you present your progress in front of a commission).

Hope to see you all!

Best regards!
Eralda
